Has long hair become tangled around your Gtech Multi’s Power Brush? Here’s how to remove hair and prevent tangles from affecting your vacuum’s performance.
The Gtech Multi Mk2 comes with the company’s “Power Brush” tool, which has a powered rotating brush bar.
This tool is great for picking up more dirt and debris – but it’s common for long hairs to get tangled around the brush. The bigger the tangle, the more likely it is for the vacuum’s cleaning performance to be affected.
However, one of the things we loved about the Gtech Multi Mk2 in our review was how easy it is to maintain. The brush bar is a great example, as it’s simple to remove the brush and cut away any hair. Let’s get started!
Step 1: Remove the Brush Bar
It’s much easier to cut away tangled hair when the brush bar has been removed from the Power Brush tool. Fortunately, it’s easy to remove the brush.
Start by detaching the tool from the vacuum. To do so, use the small thumb tabs on either side of the tool and give it a firm pull.
Then find the side of the tool with a rotating lock. Turn it so the tab is over the “Unlock” sign (see the photo above.)
You’ll now be able to remove the brush bar from the tool. It can sometimes be hard to get a grip on the end, so you might need to slide it out using your fingers.
Step 2: Use The Tool (Or Scissors) To Cut Hair
Gtech provides a hair cutting tool with the Multi Mk2. As you can see from the picture above, the tool makes it easier to safely cut the hair without using scissors. It also has a comb for pulling out the hair fibres once they’ve been cut.
To cut the hair, find the groove on the brush bar that runs lengthways (not pictured above). Slowly run the tool down this groove to cut all the fibres, then pull out the loose hair.
The hair-cutting tool is small and easily lost. If you can’t find it, a pair of scissors can also do the job. Run them carefully down the same groove to cut the hair, then pull it out by hand.
Step 3: Replace The Brush Bar
The brush needs to be re-inserted so that the tab lines up with the unlock symbol again. Once it’s fitted, you’ll then be able to rotate it back to the locked position.
Make sure you remember to lock the brush before using it. It’s also important to never use the tool without the brush attached.
And you’re done! The Gtech Multi Mk2’s brush should now be clear of any tangles and ready to use.
Summary
It’s important to regularly remove any hair that’s become tangled around the Gtech Multi Mk2’s brush bar. Tangles can reduce the efficiency of the brush, leading to poor cleaning performance.
The good news is that it’s easy to take out the brush and cut away the hair. Just follow the steps above and your vacuum will be back to full performance before you know it!
